Marble-top Chest of Drawers

French marble-topped chest of drawers with lovely original paint. The marble is in great condition, and obviously lifts off for delivery. The drawers are great quality, with oak drawer sides and bottoms, and clean interiors, and all drawers run nice and smoothly, and each drawer has the original lock and escutcheon still present, albeit without keys. The handles are a later addition, but by no means new, and work well with the piece. The paint is a beautiful flat, chalky, ‘eau de Nil’ colour, and has plenty of signs of wear consistent with age. A handsome and useful piece.
