Pair of Cantilever terrace chairs

Handsome pair of American cantilever terrace chairs, in lovely unmolested condition. A beautiful design, with a substantial weight, and a lovely gentle ‘spring’ as a result of the cantilever. Cantilever chairs were only invented in the second quarter 20C, and these are a rare early survivor of that first period. They have been given a light rub-back and a wax to preserve the final remnants of original paint. Exterior use will obviously cause further deterioration, so please keep in mind. They could obviously be sand-blasted and powder-coated, but I have left them in as-found condition. Both are in great structural condition.
Seat height is approximately 40cm.
