French fruitwood table

Handsome French cherry table, of a great size that will comfortably seat eight people. The top is made from just three wide boards, and there are two drawers to the long side. Simple square, slightly tapering legs, and pegged tenons. Plenty of marks and patination to the top, but now all beneath the newly polished and waxed top, and looks ready for it’s next 150 years of service. One of the drawers has a new bottom and sides, but both drawer fronts and handles are original. The legs have been discreetly tipped to bring the table height up to more modern requirements, and the height to the apron is 63.5cm.
