Steamed oak Lamda armchair
£895.00
Stylish and compact English steamed oak chair by Lamda, with lovely curved arms and original maker’s label still present. The chairs were designed in the mid 1930s by Hening and Heckroth for Dartington Hall Limited as part of the ‘Dartside’ range, and produced for the Dartington Hall Estate, famous for its pioneering modern-movement output at the time. Increasingly rare, and much sought after as some of the earliest examples of such work in England. The oak has been given just a clean and wax to preserve the original finish, and is in lovely condition with just light wear consistent with age. The cushions are new, and upholstered in a quality fabric. The seat height is approximately 40cm. A handsome piece that is small enough to easily house, very comfortable, and likely to prove a sound investment.
